Ingredients for Easter cakes

• 500 gr. flour

• 1 envelope of dry yeast (25 gr.)

• 1 / 4 pint of warm milk

• 100 gr. melted butter

• 80 gr. sugar

• 1 egg

• 1 pinch of salt

• 1 egg yolk

• 1 spoonful milk

For decoration

• Anisete colored balls, chocolate, raisins, cherries to decorate, sliced ​​almonds …

• Hard boiled eggs painted with food coloring and chocolate eggs

How to make Easter cakes

  • - Put the flour into a bowl. Add the dry yeast and mix well with a fork. Add the remaining ingredients: butter (previously we have melted in the microwave), milk, sugar, egg and a pinch of salt. We beat them all well in the blender and give the dough round with his hands, leaving a mass as in the image.

  • - Cover the bowl with a cloth and put it in the oven for 20-30 minutes at a temperature of 50 degrees, leaving oven door ajar with a wooden spoon, until we see that the dough is weighed, ie , which has visibly increased in volume. We can also be heated in the microwave Cover the bowl with a damp cloth to 80-90 watts for 8 minutes.

  • - As the mass grows, we cover a baking tray with baking paper. Once the dough has weighed, divided in 4 or 5 parts depending on the amount of “cute” that you please make and size. Here we have to let our imaginations to shape the dough with the figures you want. In our case we have prepared the dough 4 different figures: a rabbit, a turtle and a nest and a braid, but you can do you can think of, and decorate with colored dots, painted boiled eggs, almonds, sugar … It when the imagination! You can let your children help you and I will pass it big.

  • - We put another 10 minutes in the oven at maximum 50 degrees, to continue growing mass. Once we have our figures ready, mix one egg yolk with a spoonful of milk and monkeys painted with this mixture, to brown in the oven. Add the decoration you can think of to end our figures, for example, we use raisins for eyes, a cherry for the nose, colored balls, chocolate balls and sliced ​​almonds to decorate.

  • - With our ready-made and decorated figures, put them in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until we see who are ready and has taken an appropriate color.
